Are you a dog owner? If so, are you aware that from 06 04 08 it was no longer the duty of the Police to deal with stray dogs?
A change in legislation handed over the sole responsibility in dealing with stray dogs to local authorities
Dun-Roamin was created with this change in mind. Working on behalf of, and with the consent of at least three local authorities within the Midlands area, as Dun-Roamin Stray Dog Collection & Animal Services (A registered business) we react to any reports of straying dogs whether they have been captured or are still on the loose, 7 days a week, 8.30am to 10pm
In keeping to our slogan of "promoting responsible dog ownership" , we also offer additional services that are available to everyone
When a stray dog has failed to be claimed by it's owners, where it is possible, as Dun-Roamin Rehoming (An unregistered organisation with charitable aims) we will work tirelessly to find a place for the animal either at a local rescue or match it to somebody seeking a companion
Without our intervention, many of these strays would end up being put to sleep
You will see pictured below, Jane, a local based dog behaviourist who has very kindly offered to give up her time on a voluntary basis to assist us in all dog related matters. Further details of Jane's preferred training methods (recommended by ourselves) and her associates can be obtained by clicking on the INTO DOGS link at the bottom of this page

Not taking into account any veterinary treatment, it costs us an average of £122 to keep just 1 dog kennelled for a month and although the collection side of the venture largely funds this, we do rely on donations to help us make ends meet. To enable us to continue saving dogs we require donations of any kind. Blankets, carpet, toys, food, leads, collars, items for jumble sales etc and of course , money itself are very much appreciated. If they were to stop, then the amount of dogs we can help will very much depend on the fickle monthly stray dog figures and many more dogs will sadly not make it.
We are holding a large scale INDOOR JUMBLE SALE on 31st January 2010 to help us raise funds, click on the link for more info. We will take Jumble right up until nearer the date
Nothing to donate but still want to help? Well you can help us to raise much needed funds for Dun Roamin Rehoming when shopping online without it costing you a penny.
