OZSCAR
--------------------------------------------
Today I was greeted at the kennels for the first time by this truly beautiful and kind natured gentleman. At first I thought it could not be possible for someone to have let this dog fend for itself on the streets by abandoning it but no he IS ours to find a home for. This is 7 year old Ozscar after being found as a stray in Burton. Oszcar is a Lurcher X and has such impeccable manners, he is patient in the kennels when harnessing him up and pretty much lets you do anything with him. I sat in the sand pit today giving him some free time and whilst on the phone I was head butted by him and paw nudged as he just wanted love. For someone who he does not know well yet and given his circumstances of being ´dumped´ if I was him I would run a mile from people yet no if there is an inch space for him to squeeze into to be close to you, you bet your bottom dollar Ozscar WILL fit into it just to be close to human affection. INCREDIBLE.....GENTLE.....PATIENT......KIND HEARTED and to top this off he loves playing games!
DERULO!
--------------------------------------------
Many dogs lose weight whilst they are with us due to major high stress levels unfortunately for Derulo he is already underweight which is a concern to me as when he realises kennel life is here to stay whilst he finds a home he hasn´t much weight left to lose. Derulo is a young SBT dumped in Burton a week or so ago and today was my first meeting with him. My first encounter with this extremely timid young man has me left disgusted with the human race. Taking him out of the holding kennel took me 15 minutes, he backed away and ran to his outdoor kennel putting as much space between us as physically possible., even food didn´t coax him out. Finally with this bag of bones in the van we drove to DRRH in search of a better life. We sat in the sandpit again putting as much space from me as possible I walked around for what felt like a lifetime and it was then the worst was seen. Derulo started tail chasing which i mistakenly put to stress levels but as I edged closer Derulo´s tail is bald which looks like a skin condition that could have been treated. This is how today´s encounter with Derulo began. Out came my medication box and we started to bathe his sores, this bath was the starting process of mine and Derulo´s relationship. Without a shadow of a doubt this dog now knows he is here to be taken care of I am 100% confident in this.No issues with neighbouring dogs and an absolute shear beautiful mistreated young man that I truly grateful he is with us
LOLA
--------------------------------------------
LOLA has today been saved from ´death row´ via another organisation after being found as a stray. Lola was never claimed back even after finding her previous owners. So as promised to always help dogs where and when we can LOLA is this week a very lucky young lady. A healthy comical young lady close to having her life ended as landed a place with DRRH in the quest to find caring loving and experienced owners.
PEGGY
--------------------------------------------
PEGGY! Little Miss Peggy is here today joining us in the quest to find a home! Quite playful young lady approx 18 months old. Great with neighbouring dogs. Adores soft toys and her back scratched. Certainly a happy personality! Understands all basic commands and is extremely obedient. Great in the car and gentle around people and on the lead!
GIZMO
--------------------------------------------
This 10 month old pup found abandoned a few weeks ago joined Dun Roamin yesterday and before you ask he is real! Gizmo is a happy confident J.R.T X who travels well in cars and has socialised with other dogs without issue. Gizmo is very playful and has quite a cheeky charisma. Gizmo met our on site ginger cat and looked at it not knowing what to do so he walked away. Gizmo is an inquisitive and nosy young boy
DAISY-DOO
--------------------------------------------
Also found abandoned was this mini SBT and now hopes for a better future by joining DRRH! Taking over every sweetheart there has ever been at DRRH Daisy wins the crown, small in size but big in personality, she is a loving little madam! Great hit with the boys they all stopped and went silent as she walked herself round the kennel block. Daisy has big beautiful eyes that captures everyone´s attention, has been quite a calming influence on the kennels as she has a laid back calming attitude with a hint of va va voom! Born in 2010
CRUNCHIE!
--------------------------------------------
Check the ears out on this young man! This picture is of Crunchie before some training on how to sit, he certainly picks things up quickly! Owner would benefit on wanting to train a young puppy and they will reap the rewards quickly! Crunchie having a munch on training treats, he certainly lifts the spirits up at DRRH. Great meeting new people just showers them with love and giggles. Can be quite a strong dog just due to his immaturity. Found as a stray in Burton.
WAYNE
--------------------------------------------
Anyone missing a big lump on their sofa? Anyone missing a friendly smile waking them up in the morning? Anyone wanting to take on Wayne our American Bulldog dope? After going unclaimed as a stray Wayne has joined the quest to find a home, I do think experience in the breed would help but all on his own this 2 Year is doing great! Met a variety of dogs when meeting him and he bounced over (yes bounced this dog does not run but kangaroo hop over!) and greet them with his clumsy self. I get the feeling Wayne is going to be a huge character at DRRH and I am praying he can liven up the stressed out kennels. Great dog with a huge massive clumsy dopey attitude!
