RUPERT
--------------------------------------------
After going as an unclaimed stray from Burton, Rupert is finally with us to find that loving home he deserves. Quite an emotional departure from the kennels- the staff there fell in love. Easy to look after- walks gently and is an all around delight to have. Rupert has a gentle manner and still after being abandoned has faith in people.
GENIE
--------------------------------------------
The piece of the jigsaw we didn´t realise we missed or needed at the kennels is GENIE. WOWEE! Bursting with obedience, happiness and shear comical fun is Genie after being found in Tamworth as a stray. We have deliberately put this charming lady next to our other latest recruit Susie and Genie certainly plays the mother role perfectly..... licking her, reassuring her almost whispering every things going to be fine. It is this type or behaviour in a dog that infuriates me WHY IS SHE WITH US! It is almost like you want them to show a negative trait to make it easier to understand why they are here.
BRUNO
--------------------------------------------
Hello I´m Bruno and I´m two, I´ve been through a lot in my first two years of life, I wish I would say it has been good but it hasn´t. Iv´e now been found dumped in Burton and finally someone is putting a stop to me being past around. I know I am not the most confident of dogs but what I do know is I am a good dog. I know I could be a heartbeat at someone´s feet and devote on someone for the rest of my life. I won´t judge given my past.......Give me your heart and I will give you mine..... I am quite a calming dog, like to keep my kennel clean but I´m bored. Bored of not a single person taking responsibility for me , bored of my kennel food I want someone to cook me a warm dinner to fill my belly, I´m bored of everyone saying how well behaved I am and a pleasure to take care of I want a Mum and Dad of my own , just one person is all I need. I´m a good boy honestly, I´m bored of seeing life though bars when I know in a home I could be awesome. So please could you help me? I don´t care if you have a house with no garden or not cook me a warm dinner........give me your love and friendship and I will be the happiest dog ever
BRANDY
--------------------------------------------
This is Brandy our latest recruit in search of a home. Brandy is a 2 year old Mastiff x and was found in Burton. Brandy is small for a mastiff and spends her time pacing up and down the outdoor kennel whining and whimpering perhaps calling out for someone to answer her questions as to why she was dumped. There are two sides to Brandy......one is an inquisitive nosy and playful young pup who thoroughly enjoys being a wind up merchant and her other side makes me question whether all previously mentioned is just a front. Brandy doesn´t like loud noises so clearly she will not cope in kennels for long with the other dogs barking. Often Brandy cowers and crawls across the floor to you in shear submissiveness and panic as to whether she is doing the right thing. Once she establishes you are trustworthy she bounces back to the happy young lady she is. When she does become her happy self again it does make you think how forgiving dogs actually are.
BRUCE
--------------------------------------------
Introducing myself to this very timid young man named Bruce, the whole experience angered and saddened me, how and why can this dog be so fearful of people that he chooses to put so much distance between him and me? After a few hours he then plucked up the courage to get to know me only after showing him I had food. The treatment he has had off people so far is disgusting and unacceptable- the only positive in the fact he has a a tiny waistline and every rib/bone showing means he is hungry and will come over for food. So far this dog is no different to a wild dog terrified of the unknown- people. This will change Bruce I promise you, you are my challenge- you will learn to love us we are not all the same and I will at the tender age of 4 years old I will one day take you for your very first walk
BOYCIE!
--------------------------------------------
Coming to us after a physical and emotional neglected past is this beautiful American Bulldog X 4 year old. Boycie has developed his confidence with us and is a main comical character with us! As you can see coming from his neglected past full of hurt and disappointment Boycie has hope in his eyes. Hope for a better future and the willing to forgive. His physical scars have now healed leaving behind a shattered heart- Boycie is a CASTRATED and FULLY VACCINATED American Bulldog X
WAYNE
--------------------------------------------
Anyone missing a big lump on their sofa? Anyone missing a friendly smile waking them up in the morning? Anyone wanting to take on Wayne our American Bulldog dope? After going unclaimed as a stray Wayne has joined the quest to find a home, I do think experience in the breed would help but all on his own this 2 Year is doing great! Met a variety of dogs when meeting him and he bounced over (yes bounced this dog does not run but kangaroo hop over!) and greet them with his clumsy self. I get the feeling Wayne is going to be a huge character at DRRH and I am praying he can liven up the stressed out kennels. Great dog with a huge massive clumsy dopey attitude!
