BEN!
--------------------------------------------
Also coming to us via our Private re-home scheme is Ben. Due to health reasons Ben´s owners has had to make the decision that they can no longer take care of Ben and decided to call on us for support. Ben is comical and intelligent 7 year old JRT that knows what he wants and certainly how to get it! Loves his tummy tickled, can be quite lazy but enjoys a walk too! Is fully vaccinated and micro-chipped and castrated. Ben has currently come from a home with an elderly lady but has socialised with people of all generations. Hates squirrels, cats annoy him and dogs he is not bothered about!
BRUCE
--------------------------------------------
Bruce is our 4 Year old Shar Pei found dumped a few weeks ago. It was quite alarming to see how timid and frightened he was combined with a thinning waistline. It has took us a lot of coaxing and providing a quiet calm environment for him and days worth of just sitting with food for him to come anywhere near us. Nhung our Holistic Therapist spending time daily finally managed to slip a lead and introduce him to the world outside of captivity allowing me finally being able to correctly harness him and take him to the vets yesterday. Bruce is allowing us to see his true colours now on a slow basis, it is wonderful to see him wagging his tail and making his own way over to us......forget the food now- he wants us- human affection. Perfect at the vets, easy to examine and travel in the car. No issues with other dogs, needing a calm relaxed willing home
SWEET SWEET ANDY
--------------------------------------------
This is Andy a very small male SBT after having being dumped not so long ago on to the streets of Burton Andy soon got snapped up and found a home with another dog and young children ALL without issue. Unfortunately due to no-ones fault including Andy and his current owners whom he was on trial with did not successfully carry on their trial with him. Andy is battling against his neglected past and once he establishes a trust with a human ( which given his past we are grateful to know he can forgive and forget) he cannot cope being on his own and his biggest fear is believing when someone walks away they walk away for good. So Andy is still the very sweet gentleman we knew a few weeks ago, still is open to a home with children and animals BUT we are needing a home to work WITH us in becoming confident to be on his own and someone with TIME on their hands to devote to him. Quite sad really it was humans that neglected him yet it is humans he cannot live without Andy is a small very timid sweet natured young boy with the mind set of loving everything that moves. CAN YOU PROVIDE HIM TIME? A HOME? IT TOOK ONE SET OF OWNERS TO MEET ANDY AND HE GOT RESERVED HE IS A FRIENDLY LOVING GENTLEMAN, NO FOOD/ TOY AGGRESSION HE JUST NEEDS SOMEONE WITH PLENTY OF TIME.
ARNIE
--------------------------------------------
Arnie the little menace has joined DRRH in a quest to seek a new home after coming into our via our private re-home scheme. We are quite lucky with Arnie that we are open to where he goes with nothing in particular that we need ( just an understanding loving devoting owner) Arnie has lived with children before and various animals. Arnie is a blue small boy gentle on the lead, away from the kennels he seems a bit of a loner with not much to say just plods on by, perhaps missing his previous owner that has had to give him up though no-ones fault. Arnie is FULLY vaccinated and micro-chipped including castrated. He certainly understands what HIGH 5 is and rather slams his paw down, quiet dog indeed. Brought peace to Dun Roamin and currently housed next door with other dogs without issue
PERFECT POLLY
--------------------------------------------
We have the immense pleasure this week of advertising this young beauty into our rescue named POLLY. Polly is the baby of the bunch at the tender age of 9 months! Polly was great at meeting me for the first time, showered me in love and made me feel like I was the most special person in the entire world. Very co-operative, no issues travelling in the van ( sat up front with me in the passenger seat taking the golden seat, great in the kennels, I can say she is very clean with us, remarkably friendly with people including all the dogs, certainly got the boys attention at the kennels! Polly is a 9 month old perhaps whippet cross found as a stray in Burton. Hopefully this little lady goes home soon rather confusing yet again as to why she has been dumped !
ANGEL ( SHE REALLY IS AN ANGEL!)
--------------------------------------------
It certainly is ladies week with Angel joining our care, a dog we certainly needed right now to boost morale amongst the dogs at our rescue. This certainly is a lady, very well mannered and polite, bum shakes as she struts around and has certainly made a positive impact on the kennels, fantastic lady that is over sociable. No issues in the kennels and great to walk with other dogs. Angel has a very comical outlook on life and sees everything in such a positive light.....looks like this one is going to be my pick me up when having a bad day.....thank you Angel and welcome to FUN ROAMIN!!
SASHA!
--------------------------------------------
Coming into our care I knew I had to put lots of time aside to gain the trust off this thin neglected young female named Sasha. I can honestly say it has not taken me long and now we remain good friends. Firstly not being able to touch Sasha upset me knowing what horrid past she experienced but after a lot of coaxing and time I am getting to know this lady and she is awesome. Small in size and big in personality- she is no longer fearful of me or shy´s away from love .....she now craves it and gets it! No issues at the vets she is a pleasure to take and sat with patience in the waiting room. Sasha is unique in colour and has a spectacular forgiving personality. Today I bathed her relaxed all her aching muscles and off loaded enough love on to her to last a life time. Great bundle of pure fun. No issues with animals Needing someone calming trusting and patience to also gain this trust once got you will have an amazing loving best friend that will be forever be a heart beat at your feet. Fallen in love with this cutie. Sasha is clean in the kennels, great to walk. Very stressed in kennels spends most of her time pacing up and down her kennels. Even though we have had no issues with other animals the needs to be as calm and relaxed as possible for, she´s been through a lot so the less to contend with the better
